That includes Southwest Portland’s renowned Kells Irish Pub, which opened in 1990, and the original Kells, which opened in 1983 near Pike Place in Seattle. McAleese also brews for his pizzeria, Coltiva, near Seattle’s Key Arena."

Kells Irish Pub joined Portland's craft beer scene last year when they opened their own brewery, Kells Brewery. Their new relaxed location includes a on site brewery, a family friendly restaurant, and a bar. Currently they offer three of their own craft beers, Irish lager, IPA, and Irish Red Ale.

With two locations, Kells has been serving up Irishness and solid beers for more than 25 years. You’ll find quintessential dishes from the Emerald Isle like lamb stew and shepherd’s pie using ingredients sourced from restaurant’s own 50-acre farm in Wilsonville. If you have a touch of Irish luck, you’ll be seated at one of those old-school wood-paneled booths at this NW location, or escape to the Cigar Room at the downtown location.
